Controlling the Dice

Controlling the Dice

Have you ever walked into a casino to find a crowd around a Craps table who are all cheering on one player with a big pile of chips in front of him?  A sight like that would make you wonder if he is throwing the dice in a special way or is it his lucky day.   Some would call this honest cheating, as a term used to describe controlled throws of the dice, but the word honest is not the right word that should be used.

Casinos have their rules about how you must throw the dice.  It must rebound off a backboard before they land and come to a stop on the table. This is a hot topic at any casino.   Rolling the dice in a way that is is really random is the goal of the casinos.  Some call this rhythm rolling or some call it dice setting with the thought that a rhythm is used in how the dice is throws.

Dice setting is done by holding specific numbers on the dice together and then giving a false rattle of the dice while using a lock grip on them If someone actually had an effect on the outcome of the dice, then there would be many rich gamblers and not many casinos left.
